One kilometre from the centre of Venosa, Tenuta Lagala brings together three things that are usually separate: a winery, a restaurant and a place to stay. The seven rooms were created from restored farm buildings, the heated outdoor pool looks onto the vineyards, and there is a room for events.
In 2026 the estate was awarded Gambero Rosso’s Tre Bicchieri, the guide’s highest rating, for its Nero degli Orsini. Alongside its Aglianico del Vulture wines it makes Spiralis, an Aglianico vinified as a white wine, and Angelica, a naturally sparkling rosé. Tastings are by reservation, as are lunch and dinner at the restaurant.
It is the only estate in the Vulture that combines an award of this level with accommodation and a restaurant: for a weekend in the area it is the most convenient base.
